Fresh Start Funding’s mission is to make a "fresh start" affordable and accessible to everyone by helping attorneys to legally and ethically offer post-petition payment terms to their chapter 7 clients.

We offer a package of services to attorneys who wish to offer their chapter 7 clients post-petition payments terms, typically through a “$0-down” or “low-down” approach that allows debtors to obtain relief quickly, and to pay their attorney over time. Our services include financing for the attorney, payment management services, credit reporting for debtors, and best-practices training, forms and ongoing support.

The practice of offering post-petition payment terms is predicated on bifurcating the chapter 7 engagement into pre- and post-petition engagement agreements. Bifurcation of chapter 7 engagements is an increasingly common and accepted practice across the country.
